The Dow Jones Global Equity Commodity Indices are a series of equity indexes designed to measure the stock performance of companies engaged in the exploration or production of scarce and renewable commodities. Anchored by the Dow Jones Global Equity Commodity 100 Index, the family includes three sub-indices: Agriculture, Energy, and Resource Scarcity, the latter of which is comprised of companies that produce or seek out commodities with a finite supply (e.g. oil, natural gas, metals, water and the like). Also available is a Shari´ah-screened index.
