The FTSE ASEA Pan Africa Index Series is designed as a regional index representing the Stock Exchanges that make up the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA). The index contains no more than 30 constituents per country and will have a maximum country weight of 20 percent at review.
The index is designed for the creation of index tracking funds, derivatives and as a performance benchmark. Stocks are selected and weighted to ensure that the index is investable.
