The Ho Chi Minh VSE is a major stock market index which tracks the performance of 303 equities listed on the Ho Chi Min and Hanoi Stock Exchange in Vietnam. It is a capitalization-weighted index. The Vietnam Stock Index or VN-Index is a capitalization-weighted index of all the companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. The index was created with a base index value of 100 as of July 28, 2000. Prior to March 1, 2002, the market only traded on alternate days.
VNX Allshare was launched to make it easier to track the performance of the country’s two bourses. It is composed of 388 stocks, or half of all the stocks currently listed on Hanoi Stock Exchange and Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. The benchmarks of the two bourses are the HNX and the Vn-Index.
