A RIMES Managed Data Services (MDS) customer for all its benchmark and index feeds since 2016, one of North America’s largest pension funds wanted to update ten years’ worth of enriched historical data for its Performance & Attribution and Research teams. Unable to undertake this huge project alone, it gave the task to RIMES.
A data transformation
In 2016, a large pension fund decided the time was ripe to put in place a single supplier for all its benchmark and index needs, and chose RIMES after a rigorous selection process.
In the years since, the firm identified a new business need. By bringing the historical benchmark data it had been collecting itself into line with the formats and tables provided by RIMES’ it would be able to drive operational efficiencies and increase productivity in its Performance & Attribution and Research teams.
However, with a tight window within which to transform ten years’ worth of accumulated data the firm realized it would need to turn to outside help. Given RIMES’ unrivalled data expertise and more than 20 years’ experience of working with all major data vendors, it was the obvious choice to undertake this huge data project.
An elastic approach to service
The breadth and depth of the data demand covered by the scope of the project presented challenges. Fortunately, RIMES could bring to bear an elastic approach to managed data services that allows the company to meet even the most specialist of client requests. For this project, RIMES would draw on two major elements of its service offering: its Content & Permissions expertise and its Performance calculation and validation capabilities.
